New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Facelift

The new New Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander PHEV go on sale in Japan on June 18 and July 9, respectively. Prices start from 2,519,640 yen ($20,540) for the regular Outlander and 3,596,400 yen ($29,317) for the Outlander PHEV. Mitsubishi also says acceleration and response from a full stop in urban environments as well as on the move has been improved thanks to a revision of the plug-in hybrid EV and motor control systems.

Inside, the plug-in hybrid model gets a new design and material for the seat upholstery, a new four-spoke design steering wheel and is now available with a new brown leather trim as standard on the G Premium Package. Accent stitching is used both in the seats and door trim, as well as on the instrument cluster hood. The center console uses a finish mirroring the elegance of black lacquer used in traditional Japanese craftwork, while black stream patterns as well as shiny accents are used in the dashboard and door trim ornament panels.

The plug-in hybrid system of the Outlander PHEV has received some updates as well. Thanks to optimization and reduction in engine friction, fuel economy has improved by 1.6 km/L to 20.2 km/L (4.95 l/100 km or 47.5 mpg US), measured in the Japanese JC08 drive mode. Additionally, improvements to electric motor efficiency have increased all-electric range by 0.6 km to 60.8 km (37.7 miles).

What you see here is a very well executed and almost production ready-looking concept study penned as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Colt supermini, which was sent to Carscoop by independent designer Gábor Farkas. Called the Mitsubishi CS, the Ford Fiesta-sized concept model blends select styling cues from the Japanese brand's most recent models such as the Lancer's so-called shark nose with an aggressive body shape boasting curvalicious details.
For 2009, the Ralliart is unoccupied solely with the TC SST transmission, admitting that Mitsubishi has prescribed the conceivability of a 5 speed transmission at a later date. The TC SST transmission provided in the Ralliart offers 2 modes (Normal, Sport) instead of the 3 modes the same transmission offers in the Lancer Evolution X MR (Normal, Sport, S Sport).

The auto likewise combines a simplified rendition of the Evolution X's AWD framework (taken straightforwardly from the EVO IX), with a basic "mechanical restrained slip" rear differential. Consistent with Edmunds. Com the Ralliart model underperformed the GTS in certain tests, considering the skidpad, slalom, and braking separation. Then again, the Ralliart outperformed the GTS in other tests, combining 0 60 and the quarter mile.

The car underwent minor changes throughout its production; 1992–1994 models (1Gb) have updated sheetmetal and are easily distinguishable from previous vehicles (1Ga). The most notable of these changes is that the 1Ga models have pop-up headlights. The Eclipse was revised into a new vehicle for 1995.

The Eclipse has undergone four distinct generations: the first two generations (1G and 2G) are closely related to the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser, and share parts, whereas the third generation (3G) is based on a new platform and most parts are incompatible with 1G and 2G Eclipses. The fourth generation (4G) Eclipse was made available in May 2005.
