Audi TT RS Quattro Sport

The range-topping Audi TT is going to be offered exclusively with the same, seven-speed dual-clutch unit found in the latest Audi RS3 as the German company decided to stop pairing a manual gearbox to the turbocharged 5-cylinder 2.5-litre engine according to this Car&Driver report.

We have already heard that the next TT-RS will likely produce close to 400 ponies instead of the 362hp this engine makes under the bonnet of the RS3 which is expected to reach the US shores in a sedan body rather than the hatchback available in Europe. The new Audi TT-RS is expected around the second-half of 2016.

2015 Dodge Viper

As you may have heard, for the 2015 model year Dodge has added a new Viper GT model that sits above the base Viper SRT, as well as a Time Attack 2.0 Special Edition version. The 2015 Dodge Viper GT gets a GTS hood, red Brembo calipers with two-piece StopTech rotors, Nappa leather seats with Alcantara inserts, two-mode sport suspension, five-mode ESC and a six-way power adjustable driver's seat.

The Time Attack 2.0 Special Edition adds a striking Aero Package including competition front lower dive planes and rear spoiler for added downforce, two-piece Brembo rotors with black Brembo calipers and performance brake pads, Matte Black "Sidewinder" wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber, and assorted carbon fiber parts and TS badging.

The Viper GTS continues as the range-topping model – unless you count in the Viper ACR street-legal track special. All models are powered by an all-aluminum 8.4-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engine producing 645hp and 640lb-ft (867Nm) of torque, mated to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

Audi RS7 Piloted Driving Concept

RS 7 nicknamed "Bobby" completed a driverless lap on the Hockenheim circuit at speeds up to 240 km/h (149 mph). The new generation of the car is called "Robby," has the same power output (560PS or 552hp, but is around 400kg (882lbs) lighter than its predecessor. Obviously, Robby delivers better performance than Bobby.

The new RS7 Piloted Driving Concept took just 2:01.01 minutes to complete the 4,050-meter (2.5 mi) circuit. "In Sonoma, we took the Audi RS7 piloted driving concept to its physical limits lap after lap, and it handled the task with uniform precision. The car turned in lap times that were better than those of sports car drivers," said Thomas Müller, who is responsible for the development of brake, steering and driver assistance systems at Audi.

Audi will be offering piloted driving for the first time in the upcoming generation of the Audi A8. That's why company is also testing piloted driving in real road traffic. Earlier this year, an Audi A7 prototype called "Jack" drove on public highways from Silicon Valley to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Later on, the same car drove autonomously on German autobahns at speeds up to 130 km/h (81 mph). Audi says its piloted driving technology will increase safety, time savings, efficiency and convenience. The systems can take control of the car during parking or in stop-and-go traffic on freeways at speeds up to 60 km/h (37 mph).

Lotus Evora 400 Roadster Version

Lotus boss Jean-Marc Gales told Autocar that a roadster Evora 400 is almost ready for production as "the chassis is a tub, so there's no impact with the roof off." This allowed Lotus for a faster development process, with the removable roof to be made up out of two pieces weighing 3kg each, and the ability to be stored behind the front seats. The new model is very important for the brand's commercial success in the US market, as Gales says that half of the Evora's competition there already offers an open-top version.

The new model will use the same 400hp supercharged V6 engine, which allows the hard-top model to accelerate from zero to 60mph in 4.1 seconds and onto a top speed of 186mph (300km/h). Performance of the roadster version is expected close to these figures as the weight penalty of the roof loss will be minimal. Jean-Marc Gales also confirmed the development of new Elise and Exige versions, promising that the new models will also be lighter and faster from their predecessors and also more practical for everyday use.

The Lotus boss who has confirmed that the brand's first-ever SUV model is already underway, also said that the British firm will be cash-flow profitable in this financial year and profitable in the financial year beginning April 1st, 2016 for the first time in 60 years.

New McLarens Hybrid Planned

We will keep seeing a new model or new model variant released each year in the near future, as the manufacturer continues to add nuance and diversity to its range. So far it's been working a treat, with sales going up to 1,649 vehicles in 2014, up 18 percent over the previous year; they have set a target for 4,000 units annually by 2017.

McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt says he thinks half of the manufacturer's range will be made up of hybrids within the next ten years, although the shift could come around even sooner than that.

Still, 2025 seems like a feasible deadline, given that we've been announced of a "models onslaught" from McLaren, the most exciting of which will undoubtedly be the model created to slot in between the 650S and the P1.

2017 TVR Sagaris Supercar

A month passed since TVR announced a supercar revival in conjunction with Cosworth and Gordon Murray and now, the British marque is already accepting deposits for the upcoming automobile. It seems they mean business. As from July 7th, anyone interested in owning TVR's future vehicle can make a £5,000 ($7,800) deposit to practically reserve a car from the limited first year of production, believed to be in the "low hundreds", as Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR stated.

The reason why TVR took this decision is because the revival announcement sparked an unexpected wave of interest from the public, as John Chasey, Operations Director of TVR, said: "We've been totally blown away by the reaction to the new car. Our phone lines and online enquiry system went into meltdown when the news was announced, and we decided that we must begin to bring a structure to the enquiries and build a delivery pipeline well in advance of production. Volumes in year one will be limited as we ramp up production, so this allows us to reward those individuals prepared to make a financial commitment at this early stage."

Mind you, a £5,000 deposit isn't much for the person willing to spend a heap amount of cash on the car. Furthermore, TVR is offering a limited quantity of reduced deposits for the TVR Car Club members, during July, as a celebration of the club's 50th anniversary. Anyone who's been a member for more than 6 months gets to put only £2,500 ($3,903) on the line. Don't forget, the car will be powered by a Cosworth developed, naturally-aspirated, dry-sumped V8, believed to deliver somewhere around 450 horses.

Bugatti Veyron Hybrid

What do the hybrid hypercars lack? A top speed that’s on par with Koenigsegg or Bugatti's ageing current Veyron. Here, the VW-owned brand could step in and provide a hybrid hypercar that also has a very top speed – it will be designed specifically to regain that crown it seems.

Autocar cites a German report confirming it really will be a hybrid. The Bild story, which quotes VW boss Martin Winterkorn, says the car will be good for 286 mph or 460 km/h thanks to a combined power output of 1,480 hp (1,500 PS).

However, they really do need to create something special this time around, as competition in the hypercar sector now exists, whereas it didn't in 2004 when the Veyron came out. The car is expected to debut in 2018.

Aston Martin Vulcan Track Monster
