2016 Toyota Fortuner

For those of you who are not familiar with the Fortuner, it's a rugged SUV version of Toyota's Hilux pickup truck offered in select Asian markets, including Thailand, where it was caught here on camera.

Despite its tough underpinnings, the new Fortuner has a modern exterior that incorporates Toyota's – and some would say, Lexus' too - SUV styling elements.

A leaked brochure shot gives us a look at the interior that comes with a modified version of the new Hilux's dashboard featuring a different center console design. The Fortuner will accommodate up to seven passengers in three rows of seats.

We expect the engine range to mirror the Hilux with a 2.8-liter turbo diesel producing 177hp, a smaller 2.4-liter diesel delivering 160hp and 400Nm (295lb-ft); a 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol with 164hp and possibly in some markets, a 278hp 4.0-liter V6 petrol.

All-New Toyota Sienta

The compact MPV offers up to three rows of seats placed in a unique stadium arrangement, elevated gradually toward the rear. Featuring a massive front grille as well as front and rear bumper garnishes that connect the lights, the Toyota Sienta is available in eight different body colors, including the new Air Yellow.

There are five optional extra Flex Tones available, which allow owners to combine the body color with contrasting accents on the front grille, mirror caps and bumpers. Inside, the Japanese minivan sports a simple and easy to read instrument panel, while switches and other controls are located on the lower part of the center console. There's also a 4.2-inch color TFT LCD display.

There are three different interior colors schemes available, as well as orange accents with satin-plated and piano black ornaments. The minivan offers three interior layouts: 7-seater, 6-seater, and 5-seater (for wheelchair users). Interior space has been increased in all areas compared to the previous generation model.

There are two engine options available: a 74PS (73hp) 1.5-liter hybrid system and a 109PS (108hp) 1.5-liter gasoline unit which utilizes the Atkinson Cycle alongside Cooled EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and VVT-iE (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent by Electric motor).

The hybrid returns 27.2 km/L (3.6 l/100 km or 63.9 mpg US) under the Japan's JC08 test cycle, making it eligible for eco-car subsidies and tax incentives. The non-hybrid Sienta returns 20.6 km/L (4.8 l/100 km or 48.4 mpg US) in 2WD configuration. A "Stop & Start System" is offered as standard.

2016 Toyota Mirai PHEV

The new Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle will offer an EPA-estimated 67 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) city/highway/combined (or 3.5 l/100 km) when it hits dealerships in California this fall. This corresponds to a driving range of 312 miles (502 km) on a full tank of hydrogen.

"Toyota realized in the early 90’s that electrification was key to the future of the automobile. Just as the Prius introduced hybrid-electric vehicles to millions of customers nearly twenty years ago, the Mirai is now poised to usher in a new era of efficient, hydrogen transportation," said Toyota North America CEO Jim Lentz.

Toyota has also announced a range of services offered to Mirai customers in the United States, including three years worth of complimentary fuel (or $15,000 maximum, whichever comes first), no cost scheduled maintenance for three years or 35,000 miles (whichever comes first), three years of 24/7 customer call support, Mirai Complimentary Rental Experience for seven days per year for three years, as well as no cost enhanced roadside assistance for three years.

New Toyota Pixis Mega Kei Car

The New Toyota Pixis Mega is the latest member of the Pixis family supplied by Daihatsu under an OEM agreement, following the Pixis Space, Van/Truck and Epoch. You may not believe it looking at the photos, but the Pixis Mega can seat four adults "comfortably" - provided that they don't exceed the average height of Japanese males of 170 cm (5 ft 7 in) by too much.

Coincidentally, that's the exact height of the lateral doors, which feature a one-touch electric sliding mechanism for rear passengers, improving access to the cabin. Cabin height is a class-leading 1,455mm (57.3in), of a total vehicle height of 1,835mm (72.2in). Despite being much taller than wide, Toyota says the Pixis Mega offers stable handling, thanks to overhauled suspension and body structure.

Because it's so tall, the Pixis Mega offers visibility similar to a minivan, with the eye-point set at 1,387mm (54.6in). Driver visibility is also enhanced by an extra passenger-side mirror (located below the side mirror), which offers a view of left-hand side of the vehicle. Mirrors have also been placed in the upper interior sections of the rear doors, improving visibility behind the vehicle.

Toyota says the new kei car also offers "substantial storage space." There's a dedicated storage space beneath the trunk floor with a capacity of approximately 90 liters (reduced to 16 liters on 4WD models). This extends the total trunk height to a maximum of 1,485mm (58.4in), which means large objects can be loaded upright without folding down the rear seats.

As all kei cars, the Toyota Pixis Mega is powered by a 0.66-liter petrol engine, offered in two versions: naturally aspirated with 52PS (51hp) or turbocharged with 64PS (63hp). Prices for base two-wheel drive models, which average as little as 25.4 km/L (3.9 l/100 km or 59.7 mpg US), start from 1,350,000 yen ($10,930).

Toyota Aygo X-Pure Special Edition

Sporting a White Flash exterior with contrasting Silver Sparkle inserts and bespoke interior, the new Toyota Aygo X-Pure is aimed at customers looking for "more subtle customization." The model features Silver Sparkle inserts for the frontal "X" graphic, front fender garnish and rear bumper insert. Other exterior upgrades include the 15-inch bi-spoke alloys which have a white, machined face finish and White Flash center caps.

For the interior, Toyota has chosen a similar approach, with the Aygo X-Pure featuring Silver White inserts for the center console and gear lever surround, as well as and air vent inserts finished in White Flash. Other subtle touches are the instrument panel executed in Bold Black and the gear shift knob highlighted in chrome.

Toyota Aygo X-Pure Special Edition

The Aygo X-Pure is the third special edition of Toyota's city car, following the X-Clusiv and X-Cite versions. The three special editions have been created to showcase different personalities of the Aygo, but Toyota says customers can easily create their own personalized model through a selection of 2 exterior and 2 interior packs.

2015 Toyota GT86 Blanco

The 2015 Toyota GT86 Blanco is white thanks to its pearlescent paint and then Toyota adds some contrasting decals in grey and red, simulating the go-faster effect of the always magical racing stripes theme. Red details on the front and rear bumpers along with some red and grey door mirrors help too in making the GT86 even more... special.

A set of unique 18-inch anthracite wheels with "GT86" embossed on them will ensure everyone that this is the Blanco edition you are driving indeed. The sport seats are now not only dressed in leather but also have the capability to heat your bottom in the chilly mornings as standard. And of course there is the obligatory numbered plaque sitting on the center console, proving the rarity of this "special edition".

The 2.0-litre boxer engine remains the same with the rest of the range as well as the suspension settings. This means that you can probably have the same fun -even more, given the smaller wheels- with the basic Primo model and keep the difference for fuel.

2015 Toyota Land Cruiser

The new diesel engine is a 2.8-litre D-4D unit with 174hp and a peak torque of 309lb ft (420Nm) between 1,400 and 2,400rpm, replacing the current 3.0-litre engine. Also new is the six-speed automatic gearbox, which replaces the old five-speed unit, helping the Land Cruiser scoring a nine per cent improvement in fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

2015 Toyota Land Cruiser

That means that the Toyota Land Cruiser now returns a combined 39.2mpg and 194g/km for the five-door version. Toyota has also added more equipment in the available trim levels with the entry-level Active models to now have DAB radio as standard, the Icon models benefiting from Toyota’s Touch 2 with Go Plus touchscreen multimedia system and the top-of-the-line Invincible models gaining the new Safety pack.

The new Safety Pack includes adaptive cruise control and pre-crash safety system, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor and a Multi Terrain Monitor which gives a 360-degree view of the vehicle's surroundings.

Prices start at £35,895 for the manual three-door/five seat Active model and reach all the way up to £54,895 for the automatic five-door/seven seat Invincible model.

2015 Toyota Corolla ZR

The previous model could be had with a manual transmission, but the 2015 version starts at $28,990 plus on-road costs, and is only available with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). There are other changes to the standard gear, too, including that extroverted body kit, new bi-LED headlamps, fresh 17-inch alloy wheels, a new 7.0-inch touchscreen media system, and a 4.2-inch colour info screen for the driver. The existing heated seats (with driver’s seat electric lumbar support), auto-dimming rear-view mirror, keyless entry and push-button start, and electronic folding side mirrors all remain standard.

2015 Toyota Corolla ZR

The biggest change is that new media system which dominates the cockpit, and the new sculpted piano black surround is more modern and attractive than the setup in the previous model. The usability of the screen itself is very good despite the fact there's no clever rotary dial system, and nor can you dial contacts or input navigation details while the car is moving.

The engine and CVT combine well for the most part, with good response under light to mid throttle application, but it can be a little sluggish to react under sudden pedal pressure at lower speeds. Toyota says it has revised the transmission case for the CVT to reduce noise and vibration, and it has had an effect on the cabin ambience, with less of that fuzzy droning sound. There is, however, still a lot of road roar on coarse-chip surfaces.

While Toyota has a strong reputation for reliability, it remains one of the less generous in terms of its ownership incentives.
